Parents and pre-school children invited to Tamworth Assembly Rooms for FREE World Book Day event

Tamworth Assembly Rooms will be opening its doors next week to parents and their pre-school children to celebrate and enjoy World Book Day with them.

Marking its 25th anniversary this year, the annual celebration is a day dedicated to reading and enjoying the stories trapped inside fiction – and children in the town will be treated to a fantastic day of imagination and wonder with special guest, Daniel Thompson.

The local author will delight audiences on Thursday, March 3 from 11am until 2pm with a few readings from his book Me and My Shadow, letting children – and their parents – delve deep into a world far away from reality.

The FREE day of fun and fiction will be kicked up a notch as kids will have the chance to take part in some craft activities including shadow puppetry and tongue twisters, shadow drawings, rhyming games and more.

Parents and carers can take a break from the fictional festivities by heading to the on-site Claymore Lounge and digging into some delicious food and snacks as well as hot and cold drinks.

Loads of exciting events, activities and shows are regularly being added to the Assembly Rooms calendar – including brand new performances and live tours.
