They planned the murder. They covered their tracks. They thought they had got away with it. They almost did.
Award-winning investigative journalist and broadcaster Donal MacIntyre examines the extraordinary true stories of killers who came terrifyingly close to escaping justice in The Makings of a Murderer: Fatal Mistake.
These are cases involving murderers who lied convincingly, destroyed evidence, created false alibis and, in some instances, remained free for years. But somewhere along the way, something went wrong.
A tiny forensic trace, a forgotten witness, a change in behaviour, CCTV footage, a phone call or a contradiction became the mistake that started to unravel everything.
Drawing on compelling murder investigations, Donal takes audiences inside the hunt for killers who believed they had committed the perfect crime, exploring how they avoided suspicion, what eventually gave them away and just how close they came to escaping justice. Gripping and revealing, this is a fascinating evening for true-crime audiences.

Recommended age 16+
Think you could catch a serial killer? This interactive true-crime experience puts the audience at the heart of the investigation.
Hosted by serial killer expert Cheish Merryweather, Can You Catch a Serial Killer? invites audiences to examine real-life cases through dramatised crime-scene mock-ups, criminal profiling, investigative techniques, forensic evidence and simulated autopsies.

And there's one particularly intriguing question waiting for the audience on the night: do you have the mind of a serial killer?
The show is recommended for ages 16 and over and contains intense themes, realistic crime-scene reconstructions and graphic simulated autopsy material.
